‘Congress unable to digest BJP’s developmental works at Sonai’

From Our Correspondent
Silchar, March 19: Temperatures are quite running high in Sonai constituency. Both Sonai Block Congress and MLA Aminul Haque Laskar are at logger’s head. Sonai Block Congress has alleged that the MLA is busy in replacing the works of former Sonai MLA Anamul Haque by inaugurating already done work. The MLA inaugurated a number of school boundary walls across Sonai under the programme MLA ADS 2016-17 last Saturday. Speaking at a simple function at Nitya Gopal Higher Secondary School, Sonai, Aminul Haque Laskar, said, “I do not just believe in inauguration of a work, I see that it gets completed.”
Members of Sonai Block Congress have brought allegations that the MLA is practising dirty politics by inaugurating developmental works that have been done earlier by the Congress. Taking a dig at the Congress, Aminul Haque Laskar said, “Congress cannot dream of inaugurating works since they have not completed a single work or project. They have only looted and sapped the vitality of the country. They should go to any eye specialist for treatment. Nothing can be seen clearly with blurred vision. Nitya Gopal Higher Secondary S School had no walls in its eastern block. Now the 634 students along with the teachers and non teaching staffs can continue with their work.”
Sahabuddin Barbhuiya, officer in-charge, Sonai police station, said, “I have worked with many MLAs, Aminul Haque Laskar is the best. He has given me the full liberty to work. People love him a lot and the district administration also reveres such honest and hardworking MLAs. “Schools are the purest of all. People belonging to different religions pray either at the temples, mosques, gurudwaras or churches. But school is the only place where students from different religions come for studying. Infrastructural development is indispensable for a school to blossom. Many MPs and MLAs have come and gone, without providing a solution. Within 8 months, I have sanctioned Rs.30 lakhs for electricity and development of the classrooms of this school,” said Aminul Haque Laskar.
The MLA also assured the school will soon be transformed into a RCC one. He further stated that he had sanctioned crores of rupees for a number of schools, S C Roy Girls’ School, M C Das and Nitya Gopal Higher Secondary School. “There has been a problem of girls’ toilets in various schools across Sonai. I have made sure that each of these schools gets one. Moreover, the double lane LRA road has also been sanctioned and work will start very soon. Congress members are unable to digest it and so they are passing such statements,” Aminul Haque Laskar added to say.
“The time of Congress is over and so they are clutching at a straw. They are, like derelicts, losing their foothold. The days of hooligans, demons and evil forces are over. Congress cannot bully you anymore.  I am not an MLA, but a sevak, a dedicated worker. I assure you that I will bring sea change in Sonai. The change is there to be seen. The footpaths have been cleared and roads have been cleared off congestion. This is paribartan. In fact, there are very few cases left unsolved in the police station, said MLA Aminul Haque Laskar.
It should be mentioned here that the construction of boundary walls in these schools became necessary since the Secondary Education Board of Assam had notified that construction of walls from all sides of a school is a must for conducting matriculation examination. “November 30, 2016, was the deadline for submission of a draft plan. The authorities of these schools approached me. I made it sure that walls are constructed as soon as possible,” the MLA added. On the same day, he also visited Lakhi Charan High School at Kabuganj in Sonai and Boali Nath Para Shiv Bari under Sundari GP and inaugurated the boundary walls under the same programme.
