Silchar, March 28: The 10-day exhibition based on the theme ‘Mera Desh Badal Raha Hai Aage Badh Raha Hai’ which has been organized by the Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP), Shillong, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, in collaboration with the 7th Barak Valley International Fair, has caught the fancy of the residents of Silchar. The exhibition which started on March 25 at Bipin Chandra Paul Sabasthal, Circuit House Road, has been able to attract a lot of visitors. Development is the only mantra of the present government. The theme has been launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to develop each and every sector of the country.
More than 25 stalls have been installed at the fair which features handicrafts, woollen clothes, decorative items and an assortment of other items. One of the most important features of the fair is that it shows how the Prime Minister is determined to bring revolutionary changes in the country. A gallery featuring his initiatives, goals, noble missions and future endeavours has been exhibited along with relevant photographs, banners, posters and leaflets. The quick glance at the gallery presents abundant schemes related to women empowerment, digitalization, GDP growth, improvement of irrigation facilities, empowerment of the poor, development of the youths of the country and electrification of villages.
The gallery which comprise large posters and banners speak volume about the Prime Minister’s noble missions. The stalls, Agragami Enterprise, M/s Chandan Tyres, Padmabati Handicrafts, M/s Krishna Singh Tailoring Embroidery and Doll Making, M/s Umananda Handloom and Textile, M/s Dhabeianti Industries, M/s Mina Rani Enterprise, M/s Mira Cutting Knitting and Embroidery, M/s Momota Industries, M/s Joya’s Industries, M/s Lieme Tailoring and Embroidery Centre and M/s Laskmi Tailoring and Readymade Garment, have focussed their items on the ‘Make in India’ theme. This scheme people encourage and inspire people to use and buy products which are made completely in India.
Electrification is a major issue in the country. Prime Minister Modi’s endeavour to build infrastructure for a modern and futuristic India will connect people and brighten their lives. To provide light, the prices of LEDs have been reduced by 82%. Workers under ‘Swachh Rail, Swachh Bharat’ scheme has been working round the clock for achieving the Zero Discharge target on railway tracks by the year 2019. Educating the womenfolk leads to their empowerment also. A poster featuring the Prime Minister’s ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ spoke volumes about its success story. This scheme has been designed to bring about a change in the mindset towards the girl child. The scheme has been extended to another 61 districts from the current 100 critical districts.
It can be stated that the exhibition on the government’s initiatives and missions has been enlightening as well as a feast for the eyes. Visitors on the subsequent days to come, will learn a lot of incentives and benefits that have been provided by the government under various schemes like ‘Niryat Bandhu Scheme’, ‘Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana’, ‘Deen Dayal Upadhyay Grameen Kaushalya Yojana’, ‘Skill Loan Scheme’, ‘Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana’, ‘Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana’, ‘Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana’ and ‘Janani Suraksha Yojana’. In addition to this, there are more such schemes which have been launched the government.
