AGARTALA, Jan 11 – Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy called on Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in Delhi yesterday and briefed about the prevailing situation in the state, said BJP state president Biplab Deb.The Governor had a long meeting with the Union Home Minister on the prevailing law-and-order situation in the poll-bound state, he said while speaking to media here today.
The meeting assumes significance keeping in mind the BJPs allegation of deteriorating law-and-order situation in the poll-bound state.
When asked about the committee formation and terms of reference, the BJP state president said he had no information about this matter as the Centre has constituted a committee to gauge the plights of the tribal people.
On the electoral alliance, Deb reiterated that the party will not support Tipraland demand or separate statehood in no way as demanded by Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura (IPFT). On the partys poll manifesto, Deb said the party is in the process of preparing a vision document for 2018 Assembly elections.
To a query, the BJP state president said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit the state during January to intensify partys election campaign.
